Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Sales Engineer in to join the Virsec Customer Success team. This Sales Engineer will play a critical role in bridging the gap between technical expertise and customer needs, ensuring our products meet the highest standards and exceed client expectations. This role involves a combination of technical know-how, customer service, and sales acumen to drive our product adoption and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Technical Expertise:
- Be the technical quarterback to the sales team and potential clients.
- Understand customer requirements and tailor solutions to meet their specific needs.
- Stay updated on industry trends, products, and technological advancements including, but not limited to:
- Endpoint detection and response & protection platforms (EPP, EDR, MDR, XDR).
- Security event management and orchestration (SIEM, SOAR).
- Threat actor behavior.
2. Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Collaborate with sales representatives to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of sales proposals, contracts, and technical documentation.
- Conduct presentations, technical deep dives, product demos, proof of concepts, paid pilots, and product bakeoff [attack simulation] tests.
3. Product Expertise:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of our products, their functionalities, and their applications.
- Provide feedback to product development teams based on customer insights and market trends.
- Create and maintain technical content, such as manuals, FAQs, online resources.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing technical issues and providing ongoing support.
- Conduct post-sale follow-ups to ensure product performance and identify potential upsell opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in sales engineering. 3+ years of experience in technical roles such as software development, system administration, security analyst, penetration testing/ethical hacking.
- Sales Skills: Proven ability to drive sales and build strong client relationships. Experience in selling cyber security solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a customer-focused approach.
- Travel: Ability to travel as required for client meetings, presentations, and industry events, up to 25%.
- Technical Skills:
- Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
- Application and endpoint security.
- Understanding of threat actor behavior (MITRE TTPs).
- Windows command prompt, PowerShell, Linux bash, Python, regular expressions.
