Virsec’s Deterministic Protection Platform Becomes Part of a Collaborative Development to Stay Ahead of Evolving Threats
SAN JOSE, CA (April 12, 2022) – Virsec, a company that helps organizations protect software workloads at runtime via its Deterministic Protection Platform (DPP), today announced an integration with IBM Security® QRadar Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) to achieve a new level of precision and speed under a single pane of glass.
Virsec’s DPP integrates with QRadar SIEM , which analyzes data across an organization’s IT infrastructure in real-time to identify potential security threats. Leveraging QRadar SIEM’s open application programming interfaces (APIs), DPP allows Virsec and IBM customers to move security operations (SecOps) workflows beyond traditional detection and response, delivering a more precise outcome-protection. Virsec’s data feeds into the QRadar SIEM dashboard, providing notification of automated protective action taken at runtime speed, with deep and highly contextual insights into the threat. The difference in SecOps achieved elevates analysts beyond sifting through alerts and the need to prioritize limited resources for response.
“Security practitioners are exhausted at the failed promise of ‘protection’ when many vendors merely offer alerts after an attack on their applications. As we’ve seen with Log4j, PrintNightmare, and other recent attacks, this approach is not working,” said Dave Furneaux, co-founder and CEO of Virsec. “When we founded Virsec, we took a ‘first principles’ approach to protect software, regardless of the attacker’s preferred exploit or attack method. Now, the name of our platform says it all–we can determine what your software is supposed to do and immediately stop any attack.”
Together with QRadar SIEM, Virsec delivers a concise, measurable solution that is simple to implement at scale in multicloud environments on-prem, cloud / container / OpenShift. Virsec closely aligns with IBM Security® QRadar XDR’s mission to provide real-time protection and to save time by connecting workflows, insights and people.
The new integration is freely available to the security community through IBM Security App Exchange, a marketplace where developers across the industry can share applications based on IBM Security technologies. As threats are evolving faster than ever, collaborative development amongst the security community will help organizations adapt quickly and speed innovation in the fight against cybercrime.
